Community-Based Education and Knowledge Status of Occupational Therapists Working in Public Health Center

Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study was to provide basic information on related knowledge and education level regarding community occupational therapy and to collect basic information for improving quality and developing related education programs.

Methods : A total of 77 e-mailed responses from community-based OTs were analyzed.

Results : Respondents believed that continuing advanced education and evidence-based treatment is very important. The chance of receiving education (including college) was not enough. Additional advanced education on counseling, education, consultation, and the use of community resources is essential.

Conclusion : The status of community occupational therapy-related knowledge and education level was identified. Additional advanced education based on basic college education is needed to keep track of current changing situations and environments. In particular, education on professional expertise of community occupational therapy is important.
